Got a 2 part question. First, can a cam sensor be going bad yet not give and erratic readings to the tach? I ask because my 93 mtx is still having seemingly random bucking issues + CEL coming on then off. With my foot on the gas the engine will buck like it momentarily lost fuel. it will keep doing this, getting more severe as i go, until i let off the gas(with no pulsing of the tach needle). if the car is out of gear and i rev the engine, there is no bucking but as soon as i put it in gear and give it gas, it will buck away. ive visually inspected all grounds and wiring.

Secondly i have noticed that it only will do this when the dummy engine temp gauge is high, around O, and no its not the fan kicking on. there are a few nice long, steady hills in my area and today i was coming from city driving, temp. in the O-R range and she was bucking and popping CEL on and off. i let the car coast down this hill, at the bottom the temp. gauge was down in the A-L range and i put it in 3rd and gave her gas, no CEL and no bucking.

Only codes are 114(which im unsure about since the IAT is new), 214(which is why im wondering about the cam sensor) and 551.

I would really love some other opinions/ideas since im not quite sure what to do and i really dont want to throw parts at it.

How many miles, how old are the plugs, and are the V/C o rings leaking at all?

181,802 miles on the engine. The V/C gaskets, plug well gaskets and V/C bolt grommets are all new, replaced in February this year. The plug wires, I'm not sure. they are the ones that where on the car when i bought it in 2008, they are AC Delco Premium 7mm.
