Will a rear leaking Cam seal foul the Cam sensor? Which inturn will cause hunting Idle and hard starts?

no it wouldn't hurt it, it is a hall effect sensor, magnetic. thought there are some sensors that are subseptable to petrolium distilates.

well it will most certainly make it malfunction. the oil and the heat wreck the sensor. it will get all gummed up... the cam sensor could be your stalling problem.

plan on doing the front 60 k soon, then you you will have the timing belt off for replacement anyway, so you are that much closer to the cam seals (3)

Another vote for oil fouling the cam sensor (CID) which can cause the hard starts, but a lot of other things can cause the hard starts as well (weak fuel pump / check valve for instance). For the hunting idle, try cleaning or replacing the idle air control valve / bypass. You need some air for idle, if the passage becomes dirty the amount or air needed for idle can be effected, causing idle problems.

Brand new IAC, Brand new Engine, Brand new Fuel pump, Brand new CID.

Only problem is Idle bounces from 600-1000 and then gets stuck on 1200-1500. I can blip the throttle and the problem goes away for a bit. I just bought a TPS so we will see whats up.

Thanks for the help.
