"When working on the driver's side, you can use an adjustable wrench to hold the rack
when removing/installing the inner tie rods. Unfortunately, you can only access the rack
teeth on the driver's side, which makes the passenger side more difficult, and you will
have to remove the bellows on the driver's side if you are replacing the passenger side."
I'm wondering - is this really necessary?? Will the shaft turn when torquing on the inner tie
rod? I guess I thought I would just have to get the bellows off, screw out the old, then
screw in the new. I have the inner tie rod replacement tool, but only have two hands
so it will be hard to hold the rack on one side of the car while installing the inner tie rod on
the other.
Any advice? Thanks in advance!
