This question is about the rear calipers. Do they have some type of seal around the spring for the ebrake, or one in that area. I pulled the ebrake cable off the caliper (right rear) to see if it was causing my squeaking on that side. Well it wasn't it and come to find out it's got a nasty brake fluid leak there now. I was kind pounding on the end of the cable hard to try to get it to release out of the hole it goes through on the caliper so perhaps I messed something up with it. Looks like it's time for a new caliper, but I was curious as to what happened and how I caused this to happen.

All you had to do was loosen it.

Yea, you probably messed something up. Perfect time for a brake upgrade, although rear brakes are "less important"

That's all I was trying to do, but after about 10 years of sitting on the car in rusty New England they tend not to want to come off.
