We replaced the calipers and rotors on our '92 MTX recently, and discovered two "situations" (for lack of a better term). The left and right calipers were switched, as evidenced by the bleed screws being canted down instead of up.
No apparent affect on the braking, (but then why were we replacing parts?)
And one of the right side caliper bolts is stripped. It is a weird thread, and I cannot find a heli-coil for it, but have found a part on a rockauto.com link (with picture) that is called an "oversized" bolt. Anyone have any experience with this part?
We were changing to braided stainless steel flex lines, too, and cannot get the left rear rubber line loose for the tube line. Since this is the shortest line to the bias block, we looked for a replacement tube. This is now obsolete and out of stock. Any source besides a junk yard?
Thanks for any info.
