Ok The brakes I have on the front right now are 3000 miles old. I put on new rotors and pads on at that time. So gradually over the last three days my left front wheel has decided to grind like a ****. The rotor is SOOOO warped after 3000 miles that the car is not drivable! I feel like I'm digging into the rotor when I stop and I probably am.

Questions:

1. Can brake dust cause this? I assume not :(

2. Is upgrading to the 11.6" rotors going to allow me to do my frequent 100 - 60mph braking without this BS?

Thanks folks!

1. No.
2. Yeah, the 11.5" '96 upgrade should help quite a bit if you brake as hot and heavy as you indicate. I did mine ~5000 miles ago, and I'm very pleased with them. The car stops the same today as it did the day I put on the bigger rotors and pads. I got my brackets from Josh at SHO Nut, and found new OEM Ford rotors on eBay for $20.00/ea. Bargain rotors at AutoZone/Advance are about $36/ea I think.

Of course if you're looking at doing this on your '91, you're looking at replacing the knuckles and calipers too.

half-way there, I think.
I did the 96' upgrade last year. I drive very hard and had gone through 2 rotors (warped and cracked)and 3 sets of pads before I finally got the Baer track system. I haven't put these brakes through the paces yet - but the car stops a **** of a lot better than it ever has and there is very little brake fade with repeated hard stops.
