Did you guys notice how you can remotely roll down the windows and crack the sunroof while holding the unlock button down?
Same noise occurs if you open the trunk lid too via the push button near the license plate if the key fob is on you. Doesn't have anything to do with the lights though. Reminds me of a relay of sorts allowing the entrance to your car/trunk with out using the unlock/lock feature on the fob. Here's a cool feature I noticed too. Yes. :wave:I've heard it too... I think its locks
Hey whitecoyote,
You in Macomb County did I see ?
Like the tint on red
Yeah, I like that feature for the upcoming summers! It was in the manual.![]()
Guy at work has a G37 who inadvertently had the keys in his pocket and mashed the button down in the middle of a Houston Frog Strangler storm, opening the sunroof and all the windows. They totaled it.
Same on the G37.
He sat down and the unlock button apparently was mashed for at least long enough to roll them all down.
3 months later his wife did the same thing to their RX400. Both of them drive Enclaves now because they dont do that.

I was looking for that trunk lid button and couldn't find it. The license plate is down pretty low.
Regarding the buzzing noise, I thought it was somewhat familiar, ie. the fuel pump. It sounds like it's coming from the interior though. Usually, you can only hear the fuel pump if you're standing behind the car.
Run your hand/fingers right above the license plate area. Where the bumper insert is for the plate. The switch is like the ones on the Explorers to open the rear glass.
I was wondering the same thing too. It must have some big ass fuel pump to make that kinda noise from inside the tank. Wonder if there is an external one outside the fuel tank also??
I believe you are correct. The noise you are hearing is the in-tank fuel pump. It runs for a second or two when the door is opened or the unlock button is pushed so that the fuel system is primed and ready to go when you push the start button.
This makes the start time shorter and more repeatable.
