I didn't know where to post this, it's not a mod or upgrade (what's the difference anyway?), but these two forums are the only ones that have a lot of exterior Q&A.

My neighbor hit my SHO parked in front of my house (long story), and the bumper/front fender got replaced and the front end, driver's side, rear bumper and 2 wheels got repainted and the rest blended. I got it done at the top-recommended shop by both my and her insurance (her insurance paid in full), which also happened to be the Cadillac dealer shop that a friend worked at. Another long story but the shop was terrible (friend explained that GM is cutting back and changing procedures because of money problems and corners are being cut), 7 "hey your car is ready," "I'm not picking it up like that, I'm keeping the loaner, get it right," and one return and I still have a BUTLOAD of problems.

A lot of it involves trim and parts being loose/incorrectly installed... the worst of which is the front bumper, it keeps poping out like this, I'm assuming that it's supposed to snap into place. Anyone have any ideas how/why it's popping out and how to fix it (this is about as much as I can see in there without taking everything apart)?

The tab was broken at the end your bumper clip. It will not anchor down properly. You will need to make a new hole and use a zip tie to fasten it to the fender.

Don't do that! No zip ties! Take your shit zip ties and leave! ! :)

There is a bracket behind the bumper cover that it clips into. The clips can break when the bumper is removed. It just needs a new brakes.

The very end where the Christmas tree pin thing holds in the bumper doesn't really do much, but if thats broke, and this was an insurance repair then it needs to be fixed properly. Either some epoxy to make the hole, or a new bumper cover.

The passenger side bracket I installed was a part number ag1z-17c947-a.

If the tab is broken on the clip, there isnt an anchor point. You need to make a new hole and secure it anyway possible. You would never know mine are secured by a zip ties. Also I remove my front clip a lot so...

@ the OP......

You say the shop told you they replaced the entire front bumper cover, yes?

If so, what in the **** did they use to source that part?

The end of the tab is in fact broken, per your own picture (see area circled in yellow).

I would make them order (yet again) a brand new one and that may mean they'll have to re-paint the 2nd replacement.

Moving along, there is a black plastic hanger that gets bolted to the frame (see the 2nd picture). The bumper cover attaches to that hanger. This part also is prone to breaking with bumper cover removal.

If your bumper cover is broken (which it is) you'll never get it to attach to the hanger correctly.

I do not know the most recent part # for that piece (1 for either corresponding side) as Ford routinely updates the part #'s annually.
