So, I'm driving in a parking lot of a movie theather and suddenly I hear this loud popping noise. I get out of the car to check and see what it could've been. To my suprise, the sub-frame bushing located on the rear right side of the frame seemed "smushed." I figured that the rust collecting on that part of the frame had gotten worse. I managed to drive the car back to the garage and jacked it up. Upon removal of the sub-frame bushing, I saw the damaged done due to rust...and now it looks like I need some help. The rust has eaten up the opening for the bushing so much that the frame started to fall around the bushing assemble. I just finished swapping a 3.2L into this MTX and I'm not looking to just letting it go. What should I do? By chance, anyone in the chicagoland area have an extra sub-frame laying around? Would welding something be ok? I need anyone's advise on this one. Thanks for your replies in advance. Also, this is an emergency b/c i use the car everyday to get to work...

would an aluminum subframe bushing distribute the load around that area a little better in the meantime? as a band-aid solution of course.

i've never seen the subframe bare before so just a shot in the dark.
