Like the title says I broke one of the pinch bolts for the rear struts, I went to install KYBs on the 95 MTX and decided to rears first, and the very first one I touch the bolt head broke off after threading out a bit...Where can I get new pinch bolts??

Also, I was thinking of drilling out the bolt and using an easy-out to get the remaining little parts out.....

Dunno, what would you guys do??

I just love living in the freaking rust belt

Drill it out using pregressively larger bits, until there's just a shell of the old bolt, then run a tap through it to get the rest of the bolt out of the original threads. (You'll have to be VERY precise with the drill)

The only way I'd try it with an easy-out is if I had a torch handy to heat it up ahead of time.

As for the new bolt... Junkyard??

New bolt from ford. I have described a way in previous posts that works really well to get it out. If you try and search I am sure you will find it.

I also agree drilling is the only way. Make sure to use cutting oil with that cobalt bit. You don't want to break the drill bit and then try and drill through that also.

A grade bolt, washer and nut will work fine for a replacement.

I got bolts from ford today, I got new front and rear bolts, cost me about 10 bucks for all 4 of them With the special discount I get :)

Now I just need to find the proper drill bit, and a really good and hard one at that, Having worked in 2 different machine shops over the course of the past 3 years, I know how hard it is to drill through a broken bit.

Im thinking of heating up the pass. side real hot and lossening and tightening it, and hopefully gettin it out....

Wish me luck, I will need it
