I recently became the owner of an 89 mtx it has a broken motor mount which i went to fix today. I planned on removing it and reinforcing it and then putting it back in. After following the instructions posted on shophoenixproject I got to the part of actually removing the bolts and discovered they're rusted on. I have been shooting them with pb blaster for the last hour and still nothing I was wondering if there is an easier/faster way to get them off as I dont have a garage so I'm doing it in my apartment lot. Also when I was looking I noticed my mount doesnt have a dampener attached, in fact there aren't even and holes in it for there to be a dampener which i thought was odd. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I tried everything except heat since I was in my apartment parking lot and Im not suppose to be really working on it there anyway, and im sure if im walking around with a blow torch someone will definitely find out. But it refused to come off, and I had to use the car again for work so I've put it back together and will probably just end up ordering a new one and having a shop put it on. But i did rig up a decent temporary fix that makes it a hundred times better. I just took regular urethane sway bar link bushing from like autozone and made one cut so the would open and slipped them around the limiting bar so that the top of the mount could barely seperate before hitting the bushing. No where near permanent but good for a little bit til i can get the new one.

How long of an extention are you working with? When I did mine I used a "wobble" bit and a long extention and loosened it from outside the wheel well.

Another thing... what about the coolant hose? Is the one behind the hose the one your having problems with? Can you "double wrench" it? Just fart around with it sometime and see if you cant get something in there...
