Just curious would having no inner pad on the front cause the car not to stop correctly.

Also can anybody explain this. Rear brakes driver side stick to the rotor. I have replaced the caliper twice and the pad. It gets hot enough to the point where the pads are ash. Can anybody make any suggestions.

Do you have a '93 or older?

Still have the stock rubber brake hoses? How are your slider pins, nicely lubed?

oops '93 taurus ATX and pins are good orginal hoses

You may want to replace the rubber hoses. And check to make sure the parking brake is releasing all the way.

Definantly check the hoses on the rear, and I would replace them especially since they are original, just like any part that allows movement they wear out. After those are replaced and its still doing it and your parking brakes are not dragging, time for a caliper. Good luck.. OH, and the inner pad wearing is due to sticking slide pins.. clean and **** them and you will have nice even braking.

The stock '93s and older front brakes do not have slider pins. That said, the caliper piston is not working properly. Time for either new front brake hoses or its the calipers also.

Umm, dont know where you got that info, but the 93 and older have Torx bit slide pins, which act as bolts, but still need to be lubed in order for the caliper to slide on. Otherwise they would just be bolts and not have a long smooth surface for the caliper to slide. How would a brake hose cause ONLY the inside pad to wear? And how could only the caliper cause only the inside pad to wear? The only way that pressure is applied to the outer pad is from the caliper sliding on the pins. All floating caliper designs will have a slide pin. with that said, its your slide pins.

I agree with above ^^ all floating calipers have slide pins, my 92 has slide pins, and it is very important they are lubed for proper operation.
