Brakes all stuck

Hi, to start off this was my situation. I got in my car from some months of inactivity and the brakes did not work, pedal went to the floor and had very little stopping power. I did not see any fluid lost so I thought it might be the MC. Another month or so goes by while i collect parts. I see that the old MC is now empty but cant see any leaks.

I replace the MC AND booster, bleed brakes and notice that the rear right caliper is leaking. So i replace the bleeder but it looked like some of the threads got messed up because it went in at a weird angle. I replace the caliper and no more leaks. I try to bleed but it looks like the rear drivers side caliper is now leaking so I replace that too. I see that the front bleeder screws have some fluid around them so I replace those too. I bleed the brakes well then set out to test drive. The test drive went well and brakes work again. I go out to return the cores for the calipers when my acceleration begins to suffer and steadily get worse until i realize the brakes have locked up. I was close to home so I tried to make it back and I did but with my calipers on fire . Both front were burning and rears were pretty hot. After it cooled off I drove the car back into the garage and brakes seemed to work ok. I have not checked the full extent of the damage yet.

Details: I have the cobra 13 inch brakes in the front, bias plugs for the back. What could have been the issue? My only guess would be something related to the ABS?

Wow, not good! How old was the brake fluid by the time you resumed driving the SHO? It is hygroscopic, and it can get dirty/rusty just sitting there. Probably should have it tested to see if there is any rust in it, because if there is, the problem could be bigger.

Have you checked the distribution block, the brake lines and the hoses? Any/all of them could be an issue. I had a pinhole leak on the right rear line very close to the wheel well, but that created a puddle, as it should.

The only time I had brake calipers stay on is when the brake hoses were either strangled by a rusty circular guide or the inside hose collapsed

May not be your issue, but take a look at that first. Feel the rims after a short drive and see if any are hotter than the others (should be cold).

If in the past, someone added something other than brake fluid to the system, it could cause failure of all 4 hoses (and your master cylinder).

Your guess of the ABS bundle being the source of the trouble is a good one as well, but I don't have any idea on how to diagnose that. If you don't hear any clicking and buzzing on a quick stop on a gravel road, it might be that (or not).

Also forgot to mention, rear brake hoses are SS lines and I did a brake bleed and all fluid was new since I emptied out the system with the leak and MC install. Fluids came out normally when bleeding. Also Im in California so I dont know what rust is

I'd be suspicious of the new master cylinder. Is is rebuilt or new? We've been running one of the all-new Chinese made ones for three years and it seems to be working well. We've just had an issue with a sticky rear caliper, a recurring problem with this car on both the right and left sides.
