I am upgrading my brakes on my 94 to the 96 setup. I ordered the parts from my local Ford dealer (my son works there so I get a discount. When I picked up the parts, the Calipers came loaded with the pads and included the caliper bracket. The new caliper and bracket will not fit on the steering knuckle (too small) and I am wondering if they gave me the wrong part. I ordered the calipers for a 96 SHO and here is the part number they gave me: F4DZ 2V131 BRM the other number on the box is: BRCL-32-RM. Is it the right part? Do I have to use a different caliper bracket to make things work? Is there any way to verify the part number on line? I tried the Ford parts websites and the number comes up "Unfound" Thanks for the help, folks...

the part # for the caliper brackets is F60Z-2B134-AA. And its F6(oh) the letter I believe, not a zero.

The correct brackets have FN74 stamped on them. You can buy the correct calipers and brackets at Advance/Discount Autoparts for $44.88 each after a $45 core. This includes rebuilt calipers, crap pads, and the correct caliper bracket. I have the part numbers if anyone is interested.

I asked Advanced if they had the caliper bracket, and the guy told me I would have to go to Ford for that.

On the 94 and 95's dont you only need the caliper bracket and rotors to do the upgrade, or do you need a new caliper also?

Ya all you should need on a 94 or 95 is the brakets the rotors and the larger pads.

Yeah, pretty cool, huh?

True for a 94/95, you only need the bracket, rotor and pads. But the brackets new run about the same price that you could get the whole rebuilt calipers, brackets and pads for.

when you ask for brake parts for the '96 ask for '97 parts. apparently some places have 96's listed with 95 parts. just ask for 97 and you'll get the right part. also, advance doese have the brakets. loaded calipers come with the brackets and pads.

Yep, I've got two of them sitting right here. Mine will probably be going on this weekend as well.

For future reference, here are the part numbers for the 96+ calipers including the correct brackets from Advance/Discount Auto:

Left: 16-4382A
Right: 16-4383A
