I searched the forum as rear brakes sticking and came up with 3 pages of results none of the same problem I have.My rear passenger brakes were sticking so bad I had to replace my rotor, caliper and pads. When I bought the car the rear brake lines were rusted out so replaced them and went to bleed and I cant get a stream of fluid out.So left and drove it till it ate my rotor anyway I replaced the above mentioned items and am still not getting any fluid outof the lines. It just drips out.My proportioning valve w/ the spring has all kinds of slop and play could this be my problem because the autozone says they cant get one. Thanks in advance

I would start with the brake lines first. I had the same problem on my 93 taurus. and to answer your question yes there will be play in the proportion valve when the wheels are off the ground. if it is only one side that you are having problems on then just check to see if fluid comes out of the other caliper if so then I would have to say it is good. you should also look into your parking brake cables to make sure they are not stuck, that to would cause the same problem that you are having with the brakes failing. but if you are not getting any fluid then like I said before replace your brake lines and then see where you are at. if you have any other questions just send me a pm and I will get back to you.

The e brake cables are cut on both sides. The driver side has no problems w/fluid flow it is only the passenger side

i had this problem with my drivers side. When i tryed to bleed the system it would just drip out. I replaced the rubber line and it was perfect. Try that first then the proportioning valve. I just eliminated it all togther by running the metal lines right to the rubber ones. That valve always freezes up and then you get almost no braking force to the rear wheels.

I agree that it's your rubber flex line to the caliper. Been there done that, twice. BUT, I would also try to get rid of the slop in the proportion valve's spring. The lower stop for the spring is adjustable with a set screw. To set the pre-load, I lifted the rear of the car (to unload the suspension) and took out all the slop. That way, when the car is at normal ride height, the spring is partially compressed and holds the valve open.
