Did I make a mistake bying these belts, I bought the serpentine belt, and the timing belt. If these are ok how do I tell where the timing marks are on the timing belt? Thanks for the help.

Dayco Poly Cogs are a very good belt, and I have had nothing but good things to say about them. They last, are quiet, and provide few problems. Which is exactly what a belt should do; not remind you that they're there.

The timing belt will have four markings on it; two that are somewhat close to each other, and two that are precisely one tooth away from each other. The latter go over the crank; the left mark is for 3.2s and the right mark is for 3.0s. You want to be looking at the belt so that the writing on it is facing AWAY from you (as in, you can't read it without making your neck do strange things) in order to get left/right oriented correctly. The other two marks go on each camshaft. There is a write-up at http://www.shophoenixproject.com (go to the maintenance section and click on front 60K) that explains this all very, very well. I suggest you print it out and keep it by you.

None of those have anything to do with the timing. They look like just part number labels. The timing marks are just stripes that run across the width of the belt.

That kinda what I thought there are no other marks on the entire belt. Rockauto already said they would refund my money or re ship the item I think I will a different brand of belt.

ohh yeah... no timing marks = not good. Interesting; I've bought dayco timing belts and not had issues with them. Maybe they forgot...?

You could Count the ribs and make your own timing marks ( I'm sure someone here knows the exact numbers) but I wouldn't take the chance.

Just got the timing belt refunded and bought a gates belt. The only other issue I have is the serpentine belt is almost smooth. Is that how the dayco belts are?

I should probably mention that what I said about Dayco belts was in relation to the accessory belts... I've only ever bought gates or gatorback timing belts.
