Bogging under hard acceleration

My red 94 has turned into a dog recently. It just doesn't have the acceleration that it should. Idles fine, no check engine light, just doesn't have the getup and go that it should.

I thought perhaps that the secondary intake runners were open all the time, so I looked at that, and actually swapped the control and little vacuum tank from my parts car to no effect.

Then I unplugged the connector, so the secondary runners were open all the time, and the car actually accelerates better that way than with the connector hooked up, which doesn't make sense to me. It seems sluggish until the secondaries open, then it gets better (although not like it should.)

Any ideas where I should be looking?

Is all your maintinance up to date? I would Clean the MAF sensor w/ eletrical contact cleaner. Also, might want to do the Air filter/plugs/plug wire thing. Make sure you pull the negative battery cable to reset the the computer. If that doesn't fix it then start looking for other problems. Good luck

does it by chance grind a bit when you try to get on it? Just curious if its possibly a worn cv joint causing it. (you would feel it when you try to get on it like your alignment is off if that was the case though).

X2 Cleaning the MAF.

I just did that this morning on my black car and it made the powerband much wider. It needs to be cleaned every 6 months or so.

X3 - MAF or just unplugged it and run it! It will run like crap anywhere but WOT.
