Banged up driver's side mirror backing out of 1-car garage. Bought used one and installed (fairly straight forward). However now the BLIS does not work. When I installed it and started car for the first time, the BLIS light came on, so I know that part works. No BLIS fault showing up on dash and no OBD2 codes. Thinking the control module just needs to be re-flashed. Anyone have input on this?

Looking at the repair manual, it appears the Mirror is just like a display. The sensor and module are both in the rear bumper. How did you check OBD2? I would suggest using FORScan to check all modules for codes. Some codes will not show on a generic tool. This will also allow you to confirm communication with the L and R modules.

Thanks! You're spot on with the scanning tool..... just have a generic one. Talked to a few local garages, but they said they can help. Might be headed back to dealer.

FORScan can be had for free and the connector is fairly cheap. (I got a higher end one for $50) This will also allow you to modify various items, view live data, etc

The Side Obstical Detection Left (sodl) may not be a module picked up by the obdII scan tool you have as noted above. Generic obd and obd in general are way different things.

If you have the old mirror plug it in and see if your LED lights up when starting the car. This is a prove out of the system. This will give you a chance to see if you maybe pinched some wires in the little triangular sail pannel thing. If the led doesn't come on there may be a circuit fault.

The SODL module is what turned that LED on in the drivers mirror. It provides a power to the LED.

There is no programing/calibration needed for mirror or mirror glass replacememt.

I replaced my drinker's side mirror for the same reason. Nearly tore it off backing out of garage. Bought used off Ebay and BLIS works fine with no additional steps. Guessing it came from a Limited.
