Just wondering what repair manuals you have found best suited for working on your SHO? I am going to be changing out my Timing Belt and tensioner and need a good step by step guide.

Helms, period. It runs about $100,but it`s the Ford manual.Chiltons can`t even help you change your plug wires properly. You won`t regret spending the extra cash,i read mine all the time just to learn things.

I use the Helms and the Chilton's. Chilton's has everything in laymans terms, while the Helms has more details. Chilton's says I have an S/C though! :D

Helms. Yes you can get them on ebay. Try to see if you can get them new from http://www.helmsinc.com
When I bought mine on ebay I assumed I couldn't get them new anymore. I spent enough for some ratty old used ones that I could have bought new if they're available. doh

It covers the entire car, except for some of the wiring diagrams, which are a different book. The Chiltons has few SHO referances, and is known to be wrong(like my spelling of referance...wrong :D ).

I bought the Helms and Chiltons for my car. I have always bought more than one book for my cars. It helps me to cross-reference.

On the new Chiltons, the spark plug wire order has been fixed(at least on mine). I don't know what other errors it may have.

For a 1994 the number is FPS1205594. Chilton is now owned by Haynes. Finding a copy may be difficult. I know here in Tampa I've only found one. And then they wouldn't let me open the cellophane to be sure that it covered the SHO. Nevermind the inch of dust. But that's NAPA for you. They also said I could use a 3.0 head gasket on a 3.2. rant

A recent poster in another thread regarding the trading of Service CDs has numerous copies of ORIGINAL Ford CDs for sale. Look in the OPEN SHO Forum.

I picked up a TSC/Recall disk for a very reasonable price.

Of course, if you need one for a 92 or older, you're stuck with the paper versions.

FWIW, the local library system has OEM service manuals available for checkout. You might want to visit your local library if you are in or near a larger city.
