Well ever since I replaced my alternator I get the battery light in the higher rpms. I replaced the alternator with a motorcraft rebuild and it seemed to start around that time. I also replaced my battery at the time as well. I seen this in even a youtube video on a v8 sho under acceleration. Is this common or is the alternator I got crap? I really do not want to go through the hassle to replace it again. I added a couple more grounds, but didn't make a difference. I am thinking I may have to redo the wiring on the alternator. Any tips?

I had this happen after I replaced the voltage reg on my '94 MTX and it turned out to be one of the diodes in the alternator was bad, even though it was putting out the right amount of voltage. So I replaced it with a good, used alternator and problem gone.

Rebuilds, even from Motorcraft, can be bad once in a while. I would see if you could exchange it for another one (and I know how much a PIA a gen 3 alternator is to do, but it might be your only choice at this point). Also, an Autozone alternator bench test might not pickup a bad diode (it didn't for mine), so don't always trust what they tell you.

Did you keep the original pulley? The replacement alternators for the V8 are actually for the Windstar motor and have a smaller pulley that what the V8 has stock. The smaller pulley makes the alternator spin faster . This along with the commutator brush contacts not being new cause the brushes to lift at higher rpms.

Actually no, I needed to return it for the core. I had the alternator tested as well as the battery. The alternator is putting out 14-14.1v at idle.

I just notice you have a genesis. I have an assassin charged tiburon :)
