Well now that I have had the SHO for a few days, its time to start addressing the very short and simple list of issues with it. First off the bat is this... On random occasions the battery light will come on and stay on for random amounts of time. I have found that it usually will come on after the engine has sat for a minute or two warming up (after the first shift to 2nd gear) and it will only go off with high rpms AND acceleration. But as soon as the car stops accelerating and the rpms stabilize, the battery light comes back on. It will go off at random too. For example, i didnt see it flicker at all yesterday.

Any ideas? I checked the alternator connections and they seem to be solid. The battery is brand new as well. :salute:

battery light issues

Most likely the alternator is going south. This is best fixed soon before it fails completely. you can take a voltmeter to the alternator output and check it there.

When it dies, there will be high drama. :frantic: Engine will start to run roughly, battery light on as your battery tries for a few minutes to fire the plugs on its own. Use that time to get safely off the road. (has this happened to me ?) OR you could just fix it .... :thumb: Life's little decisions.

Less likely are the battery connections, you said alternator connections are good. Also make sure the accessory belt is tight. What year is your SHO. On the MTX I remember the A/C and alternator run off separate belt, this could be the culprit.

Best of luck,
JD:salute:

Make sure the connectors/connections are secure and clean on it.
