The battery light popped on the other day. Haven't been able to test it yet, but more than likeky org. alt. I have a 93 ATX 75,*** and I was messing with the over drive button. Need to put it in first and wiggle the shifter while pressing od button to turn it on or off. Short in the wiring. When i turn od off the batt light came on. never had this happen before but i don't get to drive her that much anymore so she sits outside. where is a good place to get anew alt. Ford want 400 + dollars no way. Check a couple local spots 215 + . I could get it rebuilt for 120 is that my best bet. Any suggestions would help get her on the road again otherwise she'll sit longer than before.

I picked mine up at autozone. I forget how much it was...maybe 200 dollars? They'll also throw a meter on your car to see how well the alt. is charging. When mine died...there was probably 11volts at the battery with the car running...which ofcourse, is no good.

Its a Taurus...
sometimes the plug comes out, at least it happened with my 95 gl the battery light used to come on id pop the hood push the plug down a little more and id turn off. check that first before you go through the trouble of testing the alternator.
