Hello guys,

Can you replace the ball joint on it's own or does the whole control arm need to be replaced. Anyone have any good shortcuts or things that will make it a nice easy repair? My car is a 95 ATX.

Yep, have a torch but I think that I may need a fire extinquisher for the grease fire that may happen!

Quick question do I have to remove the front to back support that goes through the control arm or when I remove everything does it just fall apart and become an easy install?(wishfull thinking?)

You have to replace the whole control arm, it is one unit. Also, you should replace them in pairs - so I would do both sides. You need to remove the ball joint pinch bolt and the tension strut from the control arm. Then pry it out from the hub, and then take it off the subframe. This would be a good time to replace the tension strut bushing also and maybe take a good at your endlinks.

replace the ball-joint pinch bolt also. They are supposed to be replaced everytime. I just broke mine with a ratchet and socket by hand.
