Bad oil leak

My rear exhaust can seal (CID) is leaking pretty bad. It is killing My CID sensor. I have searched this issue and it looks way hard, and the possibility of screwing up by scratching the head or cam. What is the best way to approach this? Does the engine need removed?
Please help as this is my daily driver.....
