Auto Zone lower control arm???

Anyone have any luck with these. I see they list a SHO specific one and they list a regular one. Is there any difference between the two. I already have my car a part and need to get it together tomorrow and so far all I found is a regular lower control arm (not the SHO specific one). I personally have had bad experience with Duralast parts however I just bought an upper ball-joint for my Explorer and it looked really beefy like they may have improved there parts a little bit.

I may be able to get one from Ford but I won't know until tomorrow and I want to be prepared if I can't. I looked online an Advance doesn't have the Moog in stock near me.

I have the SHO-specific Duracrap LCAs on my car. The one on the drivers side is non-greaseable and was put in earlier this year. I need to check it again, but I think it's holding up so far. The one on the passenger side is the third one I've put in within the last year. All three had grease fittings, and I topped them off at every oil change. The ball joints on the first two wore out anyway, the first went bad in about 6 months and the second only took 3 1/2. I won't be the least bit surprised if the current one goes bad soon. For some reason the greaseable ones just don't hold up for me. I'm only using them because the replacements are free under warranty. If I could go back and get some from a more reputable manufacturer, I would.

If you really need to get something, you can use a SLO arms. The only difference between the two that I'm aware of is the SHO arms are beefier than the SLO's.

I am pretty sure I heard of a few people having trouble with the AZ control arms, I called around today I found a Moog control arm so I am going to try that. I have to give Ford some credit I am almost positive that the lower control arm I removed yesterday was the original, it had about 315k on it. Unless the previous owner replaced it, it was the original. I bought it with 112k on it and for the past 7 years and 200k miles I never replaced it.

SHO control arms are thicker then SLO arms.

They do last for a while and come with the boot installed.

I would strongly recommend to anyone buy Ingalls rather than Autozrap stuff.
I purchased arms from them and find that Ingalls are beefier, more squared area arm than any other arms offered beside from factory original, Ingalls would be your best bet especially from SHOsource.

Hmmm seems my AZ arms aren't SHO specific after all. Thanks for that AZ.

I'm probably gonna get some elsewhere once these ones wear out.

I got Ingalls arms from SHO Source, $85 for the set was waaay better than anything from autozone.

If I didn't need the control arm ASAP I would have ordered them from SHO Source and if anyone is going to try the MOOG I had a hard time trying to install the boot and I actually never got it to seat right so I am going to assume it will fail a little early.

Because I need my car up and running yesterday and I don't want to wait for shipping for a lower control arm. It may last a while or it may not, either way I get a warranty with it so if it fails I will replace it.

I am doing things the right way, I changed my oil and notice a little play on both sides of my front end, both sides got new wheel bearings, one side got a new tie rod end and the other one got a lower control arm plus I just replaced my ALSB with Gen 3 bushings so don't preach to me about doing things the right way, I was just giving people a heads up about the Moog lower control arms and how there boots may not seat properly.
