Hey Guys... Just acquired a 1993 SHO 3.2 ATX Transmission. Since I just joined the world of SHO's I not that familiar with this wolf in Sheep's clothing.

Car runs great, but tranny has a little shift issue. I believe this is a AXON OR AX OD Cant remember what was on the pan. It shifts hard from 1st to 2nd when not giving it allot of pedal. If I'm on it a little it delays in the shift. All others gears shift as they should. Even the passing gear is smooth as silk.
Any ideals that you fella's could lend a SHO rookie. Trans fluid and filter were just done and the pan had some greasy substance in the bottom around the magnet but no metal flakes.

1994 Bronco 4x4 5.8
1985 Fiero GT 2.8
1998 Mustang GT Conv 4.6

Changing the VSS (vehicle Speed Sensor) & TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) will most likely change all those symptoms. All ATX's kindov have their own quirks, but making sure that those 2 sensors are always in good working condition, coupled with regular fluid changes will help dramatically with shifting.

By the way, if you want to really help the tranny, get rid of all the metal lines and run metal fittings from the tranny block with 3/8" hosing straight to and from the cooler; bypassing the radiator. Also, since you are in TX, you should go ahead and upgrade from the stock cooler to a stacked plated design cooler. They can be had at your local parts store for about $50.

Just some .02'...;)
