ATX Shifter loose, even after new clip

I have a 93 Sho, and the damn shifter is loose, By reading previous posts i went and got a new clip from ford(mine was broken), does anyone know if maybe i need a new shifter, or metal rod. THe Rod isnt loose at all.

The handle is broken,there is a notch cut out inside so it won't twist side to side.It usually brakes when trying to remove the shifter by twisting it.I did the same thing to myself when removing one. It doesn't take much to snap.

Yeah, A new shifter handle will fix it.
