I was just looking on ebay and found 80/100w 9007 bulbs. Like the rest of you I have tried several bulbs including the silverstars and the superwhite 55/65W, and I am still not happy. I live in an area where there are not many street lights around and was wondering if these would work.

My biggest concern is melting the housing or the wiring.

Thanks for the input.

i had a 80/100 in my right headlight to see if it would do anything to the wiring/housing. to say it simply, i need a new right headlight. it melted the whole connecting mechnism of the 9007 so it did not twist in or out anymore(hope that made sense). but for the time it was in and functional, it was really really nice
those are my thoughts/experiances hope it helps.

I have an aftermarket headlight harness and the 80/100 watt bulbs, melted through two sets of plugs already. I went right back to 9004Sylvania silver star bulbs. My dads winstar also has an aftermarket harness and his 80/100 watt bulbs also melted his connectors.

You need heavy duty plugs before you attempt to use these plugs. Have you measured your voltage at the battery/alt then at your headlight harness? If the difference is any more than .5V than you should consider a headlight relay harness from suvlights. Relays and a good alignment will do wonders. I used sylvania xtra vision bulbs in my car.

I recently switched from silverstars to the cheaper but more effective xtravisions. I have new aftermarket housings and an suvlights.com wiring harness. My light output is pretty nice now.
