If it wasnt black Id probably jump on it. Its just too hot down here.

Yeah, if I wind up with it, it's going to be a ***** of a drive home with the windows down all the way. It's just as hot where I live too. I have my old premium deck from my 93 that I can stick in there. I think you have to have another plug though w/o the CD unit for it to work. I went to the j/y and found the cable that connects the 2...I think it's a square 6 pin on each end type plug. Not sure if I'd need anything else.

I'm already trying to figure worst case scenario costs for a/c....compressor is about 700 bucks with labor. I'm going to repairpal.com to find out the labor time on an a/c evaporator core. I never have known these to be big problems on these cars but one of the previous posters said they are problems with these cars? If it's 134a, I can stop by Walmart and get a gauge and a can of freon to check the pressure in the system.

good luck, I would take a good look underneath the car before buying it. Just because its being sold in Florida doesn't make it rust free

as long as you get a nice clean chassis I wouldn't worry much about mileage... your going to be fixing stuff on it anyway wether its 80k miles or 150k miles

Yeah. I'd never normally touch a car with this many miles, much less odometer rollback issues unless a forum member had it and can show it was maintained. I actually was going to totally back out and threw out another lower offer at the last minute and used the mileage issue as leverage and they said it was fine. I'm still not making the trip until I get a report back from 1madSHO's friend. I gave him my # to call me and he knows what to look for.

$700.00 for a compressor seems a bit high. A reman should run you 150-200.00 if you shop around, and 2-2.5 hrs labor to install, plus freon. Your Wal Mart idea for freon may have some merit for a cool ride home. My AC went out on vacation in NC in 07 (typical Dodge Caravan evap leak), so I stopped by Advance, pumped a couple cans in, and voila, we were chillin'. Only lasted a week, but I did not care. Got us home in style. Then some tool ran a red light and clocked the van, totaling it and saving us an expensive AC repair. If you buy it and the system is low, 3 cans might make for a cool drive home.

The ad is down again. The person that is to go look at it is supposed to be in contact with me. If it's sold, there's another one I'm interested in but it's more and really a stretch to buy it, so I may have to wait it out and now blow anymore $ right now that I shouldn't. It's also a 93 MTX with black interior...it's also a nice haul to go up there to get it.
