I just arrived back in charlston SC a few min ago. next time You might find that you get more response if you post what you need in your first post. Yeah, I may drive down there next weekend if no one can get to it this week--just hate to waste alot of time if it's not a good car. Thanks for the offer to help though, Jay. I really need to stay off the internet but these cars are a sickness and I've wanted that particular color, year, options, etc. ever since I've been into SHOs. Even my fiancee wants me to get it if it's what I want. We'll see. I'll still most likely keep the 90 since it hasn't sold; I have alot of parts about to go on it too. That car costs a whole $30 a month in insurance to own, and I rarely drive it, so it's not hurting me.

Ok so the car hasn't sold like I originally thought; for some reason the ad was pulled and the seller was unaware that it had been done.

I will throw a few bucks someone's way for helping me out. I've agreed on a price and am thinking about sending them a $100 deposit until I get there. Even if I don't like the car, I'm not out much. I'd rather someone look at the car in person, talk to the seller, make sure things are legit with all the scamming these days (since this is not a forum member's car).

Hey Kelvin. I just corresponded with the seller and it has not sold. I think a SHO enthusiast had it before them. The front Ford badge has been changed to a Yamaha badge. It's a black/black 93 MTX with 133k. It's had a new clutch, new plugs/wires in it. It has some stupid aftermarket looking mirrors on it, which I will replace back to stock if I buy it. The car is clean/solid in and out and the only thing wrong with it is the a/c (which could potentially be expensive). They took it to 2 different shops. One said it was the compressor; another said it wasn't. They're telling me now that it's NOT the compressor but without being there to physically check it out, I'm not sure. It has white faced gauges and it looks like the **** for the headlight switch was painted white or something. I can switch that back out. I asked them for the VIN so I could pull a carfax on it. The guy is supposedly moving asap. I threw them out and offer and they accepted it. It's just a matter of getting there and making sure it's not a pile of crap.

Only reason I'm getting another SHO right now is because it's a black/black 93 MTX (my dream SHO). I think I can work it out $ wise since it's a good price. My local mechanic does a/c work at a reasonable price too.

That's about all I know on the car.

EDIT: Just got the VIN#. Something's fishy. Take a look at this. Probably $24.99 well spent. Looks like possible odometer rollback. I'd believe it since it has aftermarket gauges on it.

Wow, what is it with me finding all these odometer discrepancy SHOs? I looked at a silver MTX awhile back that had issues with this as well.

Heh heh....I just sent the proof to the seller and lowballed them a little more because of the mileage discrepancy. Maybe this thing is worth picking up....rust free Southern car. How much can you really hurt the value of a car this cheap anyway? With all the parts on it, it might be worth driving down there. Parts are almost never worth anything. In my book, they decrease the value of a car. I'd rather have a bone stock car in good condition than some beat down car with some worthless mods.

The car may be "worth" that much, but by being patient you can get more car for your money. This one just doesn't give me a good feeling.

I'd at least have the guy send some better pictures.

I've run well over a thousand of these reports and rarely do they make a mistake with the 6 digit odometers. I have seen a case with a typo once, but likely the report is accurate. But it's got an engine that will run forever so who cares? As a dealer who has bought every SHO at auction I could, number one A/C prob was the evaporator. If you are comfortable with the price, one can never have too many SHO's! Good luck!

The seller accepted my lowball offer because he's moving to NY this week, so I'm working with 1madSHO on getting someone to go take a look before I make the trip. No way I'd pay the $1800 they were asking for it....but for what I offered, it might be worth it.
