For replacement mufflers for my SHOwagon, I was wondering if anyone has used Walker Quiet-Flow 3 mufflers (on any vehicle). They are listed by Walker as "OE style sound" which I assume means pretty quiet. The Magnaflows which are currently installed are a bit loud and at highway speeds on long trips the sound is a little too much. I'd like something with just a bit of exhaust note but non annoying! I've heard a few Quiet-Flow sound clips on Youtube and they do seem OK (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAKI...4D8B477F5&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=3), but I'm looking for anyone that has personal experience with them. I'm afraid they might be too quiet. Here is how Summit describes them :
"Replace your OEM muffler with one of these Walker Quiet-Flow 3 mufflers. They are manufactured from steel and then aluminized for maximum durability. Their turbo-style configuration provides great interior and exterior sound control without decreasing exhaust flow. Available for cars, trucks, and SUVs, the Walker Quiet-Flow 3 mufflers give you the OEM exhaust sound that you have been looking for."
(For the best of both worlds, what I should do is install a system like I have on my '69 Camaro, electric cutouts for full open exhaust!)
OK, now you can add the "you're getting old, just turn up the stereo, etc" comments.
