I’m curious if anyone is using AKD’s coupler and clutches for the RDU. And if so can you give me some feedback on it. Thank you for looking …

I am going to give you guys a shortened version of my interaction and product purchase from him:
Talked with the guy with @Ecoboost_xsport and @802SHO
Made an informed decision to give it a go
Everything looks promising and products being created
Guys asked us about ideas on other project he wanted to do for the platform
Berates us over recommendations given like a child (I won't get into this much because want this to be devoid of emotions)
Say whatever about doing anything further with him just get me my product
Sends incompleted / incorrectly machined part to me
Asks me to send it back
Send it back and tell him I want a refund instead of the parts back
Tells me no refund and he's going to send the parts back (which is fine I paid for a product)
I tell him I have moved and that if he sends it to my old address it WILL NOT arrive. Provide new address to him.
He proceeds to send it to my old address and it gets lost because I don't live their anymore
Open a chargeback against him because no product no pay
He proceeds to call my employer and say that I scammed them
I call them back and calmly say that I didn't get the product and I won't be paying for it
They state they are going to hire a private investigator to find me and sue me (which I've already given them my address)
Basically dude is mental and can flip on a switch, think you are out to get him with the change of addresses then state he will sue you over his mistake. I am still waiting on the said "lawsuit" over parts I didn't get. Honestly, I hope they hired a private investigator to find out exactly where I moved to, just like I told em, just to figure out they ****** up.

My thoughts are this.So currently this is where I’m at. Sent him the diff portion (complete assembly with magnet) of my RDU for him to install his coupler and clutches. View attachment 82858
I arrange and pay shipping to and from. He tells me it’s all set and sends it back…….only to get a much smaller package. Hmmmm ok? So right off the bat….I overpaid for the package bc I assumed it was being sent back in the same box (much larger) and all the parts….so I prepaid for the larger box dimensions and weight.
Open it and it’s just the coupler with clutches inside. Where the case? Where’s the magnet? What I received I can’t use. And it looks like pure A $ $. View attachment 82859View attachment 82860
And he doesn’t give me any information and fails to communicate where the rest of the parts are. Now why did this guy send me this portion only? I cannot use this. It serves me no purpose without the rest of it. So I have to say Hey, got the coupler….it looks kind of rough but I guess once it’s inside the case you won’t see it……where is the rest of it? He said he forgot to send it and will be shortly. I follow up in a couple weeks. Says my magnet is different ….? He made the design off a 13+? I don’t really know but he’s saying I can’t use my magnet so if I buy a 13+ carrier assembly and send it to him along with the rest of my RDU he can get it done.
Ok……so I now have a completely worthless 2010 RDU assembly that worked fine…with a missing case and magnet along with whatever was transferred over to his coupler. And I’m to find another RDU and send it to him. So I have to ask myself….what I’m I getting? From my understanding he has changed the original design of his coupler and clutches and was seeing failures with a pinion gear? I believe that’s what it was? Not sure. So all said and done what version do I have? I want the latest and greatest design not a proven failure.
So I’ve been hesitant to send him my used rdu assembly off the 2014 donor SHO I got the trans from. I should just contact him and ask him. But in a way I sort of skipped to conclusions that so far I’ve paid about $1,000 for useless parts. I could throw another $400 at it for another used rdu assembly plus shipping……but what if all I get is a first iteration part that will fail bc I don’t know what version I have…..so in an effort to pay more to get something out of it…..would I just more than likely be losing even more money if it fails? So do I cut my losses now when my intuition says it’s a dead end…or push through it and see if I can waste another $400 or so. But it’s a case of fool me once shame on you…..fool me twice shame on me.
Since I now have another rdu replacement I’m tempted to call it over and done with and install it and forget about this project.
Thoughts?
Idk I think there’s more to it than slapping it in.802SHO,
Is there any possibility the parts he gave you will fit in the RDU you have? You could try to install and test.
Just a thought.

You need a tool that only he has to assemble it, which also was a huge red flag for me when he started sending parts around LOLIdk I think there’s more to it than slapping it in.
R.I.P. Kenny Rogers..... one of many great song releases from him. Quite applicable to the subject matter at hand.My thoughts are this.
You gotta know when to hold em. Know when to fold em. Know when to walk, away, and know when to run.
