Any recent news on what the 2015 SHO will be?

The new SS is nothing more than a redesigned Pontiac G8 GXP. The body's been tweaked, and the horsepower's been lowered (probably because Chevy had to do *something* to get that monster to meet emissions)...it just isn't as good as the G8 that GM killed in order to survive at the corporate level.

I'll admit, the thing's got horsepower for days---could easily trump a SHO. But the gas mileage sucks, and GM's business model is obviously founded on black magic and gov't handouts---which means that everytime Obama gets dyspepsia, GM execs get nervous and find a car line to ****. I never cared that much about Saturn---they'd become too much like Chevy by the time they died. And Hummer should never have really been a civilian car line in the first place. But killing Pontiac---well, that pretty much destroyed my enthusiasm for anything GM.

I find it interesting that they're doing this now---I view it as an Eddie Haskell-style apology for the destruction of Pontiac. (If you don't know who Eddie Haskell is, you're too young...sorry.)

I guess the bottom line of all my rambling is---hang on to your SHO. The durability of these Ecoboost engines has already been proven, and---I guess---the AWD drivetrain has too. I personally want to make RGNBULL a quarter-million mile car.

Not to mention killing Olds. One of the coolest cars I ever has was a '72 442 w-30 (455 w/ m-22 Red w/ black stripes - fiberglass hood) Man I wish I still had that car.

As a kid, I always loved 442's and Hurst Olds. I had a 73 442.

Heres a quick one I whipped up. I think the grille is going to be laid back more like our current fascia though.

Thanks Superlux. Looks great! Is that still based on the current chassis or the proposed lengthened Fusion chassis?

the pic that superlux posted looks like the same platform as today with some tweaks. The pics in the links earlier looked like they could be a modified Fusion platform. I think the folks at Ford are being sneaky quiet about this, possibly because they haven't committed to one or the other just yet. (Although they will have to pretty soon if they want to hit the end of this year production...)

If you search google images for "2015 lincoln mks spy photo" you will see that the first several that appear look amazingly like the Fusion, so if I were a betting man I would say that is the direction they are going with the Taurus and MKS.

yes , I started with fusion. Ruby is correct , if you google 2015 Taurus , you can see a few pics of a mule fusion with rear quarter panel stretched about 10". I would say they are proving the mechanics of it with that modified fusion exterior to keep everyone off.

I think its going to be a drastic change, much like the new Mustang. Styling usually lasts 4 years.

That's why I wasn't sure if the change would be for 2015 or 2016. This body, albeit a small change from the Five Hundred/Taurus, has been around since 2010. So with a restyle after 3 years for 2013, I thought they would keep this one through 2015 and then make a change. All the more because the Mustang and F150 are new for 2015.
