Ok I belive I blew somthing in the head wehere the cam is.

So do I just rebuild the heads or do the whote engine?

Also any Prices you know of besides the $5000 sho shop price.

I notice most shops have rebuilt engines for under 1500 for most cars.

Just not a SHO.

If I could find an NOS engine never used or a rebuilt one I would get it like ASAP.

Thanks

Amazon Automotive off of Slater in Huntington Beach. To bore mine out, put in larger pistons, stage 2 cams, p'n'p heads, along with a full rebuild, cost me $3600

Look around the classifieds here and at shoclub.com for people parting out their 3.2 cars. You can pull your motor apart and go from there, try Autozone for a rebuilt unit or Jasper (expensive) for a reman. with 3yr/75k warranty, or use the salvage yard bots on the internet to get quotes for used motors from salvage yards around the country.

Honestly, it isn't worth it. It's an ATX. You can do a used one, installed, for around $1000. These motors are good to 300K when treated well.

Even if you could find a rebuilt one for $1500 (not likely, even if you did it yourself), there's still the issue of installing it, never mind the things it's not going to include like sensors, a water pump, etc. Pretty quickly, you could be putting a $3500 motor into a $2500 car.

The last crate 3.2 I saw sold on eBay about a year ago for $3500 (to someone in RI). Any that might be out there at this point are probably held by collector-types and wouldn't be cheap.

Thanks Mr Anonymous,

I emailed kirt after viewing his site 3 days ago. he must be a very busy man. he installs the 3.2 for 600, thats great.

Be nice to get the sho back up and running. I am driving a big gas guzzler and need my sho back up.

If you recommennded him you must know him.
Is his engines any good or are they just engines he pulled out of junk sho's?

I would want an engine with the Main bearings and the 60/120k done before it was installed so i know it wont need anything any time soon.
thanks,
