So at 40k miles I took my car to a local mechanic to get my oil change and early radiator flush. Just noticed a puddle. Live wire said top temperature hit was 203. Am I in trouble?

Awfully coincidental that you just had coolant system flushed and this morning you see a puddle. Possibly residual from when they drained system and coolant got on the underside cover and it found its way out. Make sure drain plug is snug. Or possibly when they filled reservoir they spilled some. What is the level in reservoir ? Is it now low?

Yes there was some in the overflow reservoir but quite low...

this is two weeks after I had a flush and I’ve never driven it over like 10 miles. This week I took 120 mile round-trip and I that’s when I noticed the puddle I didn’t know what it was at the time. When I checked the car and the reservoir was all but empty but a bottom half inch of coolant in the reservoir. Sorry this is text to talk.

My friend is an old-school hot rod mechanic and I think he might not of burpped it correctly. He did a great job on the downpipe‘s in the PTU every 10,000 miles.

Won't this thing burp itself after 2 weeks? Might be burped and need a little top off?? If the puddle is very recent then you might have to trace it. I would top off and see if it goes down again. Also check your oil if you're paranoid like me.

Maybe they overfilled a bit. 203F is not over heating. these engines run in the range 190-220. You wont see the higher numbers unless you are in stop and go traffic on a hot day.

Oil is fine, it’s a fresh change and doesn’t look like it’s been contaminated. Smells like fresh clean oil and looks like it to. I’m hopeful you are correct that they just overfilled it. I guess were concerned me was the reservoir almost empty and several puddles in the driveway. I wish I had a lift there is no way my fat ass is getting under the car I wish I had a lift there is no way my fat ass is getting under the car. The only Lyft I have is for motorcycles.

Any suggestions on whom to call at Ford. I purchased it used in July 2019 with 15K miles on it. I had the radiator fluid changed at 40,000 miles in the beginning of October. I may have put 400 miles on it I may have put 400 miles on it.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Under warranty/extended warranty? At least it's leaking externally. My f150 leaks when it cools down but that is at the gasket oring between formed plastic hose connections. Cooling shrinks the oring material enough to leak.

Unfortunately it looks like it is leaking from the weep hole one the pump. I checked under the hood today and the overfill reservoir looked significantly lower and oil low tire which is an a good sign.

I don't know who you can call unless some warranty is in effect. Too many miles from when you bought it unless the dealer you bought it from is feeling undearlery and will pay to tear into it for free.

I didn’t purchase from Ford...I didn’t have an issue until I put Ford’s gold fluid in. That is when it started....

I know the full bumper to bumper is 3/36k Not sure if the powertrain continues on after that or not. I think you can VIN check your warranty status here
https://help.ford.com/warranty/

If powertrain is still good the waterpump should be covered.

Said I’m covered till January 2024 or 60k miles. Now let’s see what the dealership says when the get in to it. Thank You for the website and you sage advice.

I don't know what your car set up is, but if you have any obvious mods and you can swap it back to original looking. I'd always recommend that so you don't get turned down for a fart can exhaust or bolt on intake cone filter or something stupid.

By the way you should think about extended Ford (not independent) warranty. Most vehicles nah. This one I'd think about it. At least powertrain. Something to think about before you hit 100k on the odometer. (and by Ford warranty I mean actual Ford warranty sold by online discounters, not the local dealer high price)
