I called Ford to see what a new Antenna motor will cost...$138. Are there any other sources? If so, what are their prices? Thanks for the help!

You know, I was convinced the motor had failed along with the mast/gear...but after hearing another SHO owner's antenna motor, I think I'll go ahead and remove the motor and take it apart...Sounds like it needs a cleaning and a new mast...

Thanks guys! I'll let you know how it turns out!

Oh, one of the reasons I felt it is toast is because I can no longer hear the radio...it's just all static.

CamaroK is correct. The 84-96 model corvette entenna mast will work on ours but im not sure about the motor. I assume the motor is not the same, just the mast size and all. You would think a corvette mast would be pricey and hard to find but autozone here always has them in stock...... weird huh. If all else fails and you dont want to mess with an entenna anymore the stereo shops carry an entenna that is made by secret audio for the classic cars thats a tiny box you can mount anywhere( like at the top of the windshield in the corner behind a sunvisor to hide it or something) and it elliminates the entenna, apparently has great reception, and you wont have to use ur button anymore to raise and lower it( if youve got a gen1) I wish the newer models had the manual entenna button cuz i listen to cds 90% of the time and my entenna still raises up and all so its getting uneccesary wear. Oh well. Good luck on it. :thumb: Ive always been told that cleaning it and replacing the mast makes it work like new, i hope yours is the same way.

hmmm.. i was thinking about that.. getting that, so that the mast dosent go out on me while stuck up. Cause whenever i race, i put it down, sounds stupid, but i think it helps... a little... and the fact that i dont want it to break, or bend in half.
