I think I may have installed my bar upside down. I've checked everything and I'm still getting a clunk. Their are two areas where the bar bows. Which way should they bow? Toward the body or to the ground? I may have gotten turned around or just plain lost my mind. :headbang: Anyone have a pic?

I do not think you could actually mount it upside down. Is there any chance that your clunk is from the rear strut mounts? Even better, your sig says you have a dynomax exhaust. Is it by chance swinging around and banging into things? I had a myriad of clunks which all turned out to be the exhaust. The muffler shop replaced all the factory hangars with what were basically big rubber bands.

Nope. New rear struts and mounts. Nothing was banging until I put the 26mm bar on. I doubt 2mm is going to cause the bar to start hitting the exhaust. I finished installing my ASFB's and new endlinks last night. I got rid of my front end clunk. Damn I wish I figure out what is wrong so can have a solid SHO again. Why do you think I couldn't have installed it upside down. It would be very easy to do. Their is nothing else I can think it would be. I rechecked the new rear endlinks and they are tight. Your yellow 89 looks killer BTW! :dribble:

half-way there, I think.
It' would be really hard to install the sway bar upside down. You can see a little bit of my sway bar (yellow) in this picture.

Thanks :D

I do not think that the exhaust would hit the sway bar itself. Mine was banging into a bunch of other stuff like the torque box, heat shield, spare tire well, etc. Just to be on the safe side, grab one of your exhaust tips and shake the exhaust around vigorously. To prevent mine from banging, I had to reinstall all factory hangers and put hose clamps around them to sinch it up.

Which bushings did you install,

Whatever NAPA stocks. They are pretty stiff.

and did you install new endlinks?

Yep.

I looked under the car and everything still looks fine. I guess I'll take it back to the shop that did the struts and complain of a clunk. :D

What is that exhaust on there? Is that 2.5" piping?

ShoShop egual length y-pipe (2 1/4" pipes) into a 3" cat back and then splits into 2 1/2" pipes at the rear suspension dumping into Dynomax Super Turbo Mufflers.
