You have a harness problem. Check the harness that runs down the drivers side floor for corrosion.

are you sure your using the correct code?
check the sticker on the keyless module you put in, it should give you the right code.

If your not using the right code it wont do anything as you've described. Otherwise, heres a wiring diagram to help troubleshoot.

Presuming you're entering the code/codes correctly, actually, it would.

The lighting function and lock functions are separate. Touch *any* key without completing any code, and the keypad and dome light will still illuminate.

  • To lock all doors, you simply press the "7" and "9" keys simultaneously (not sequentually).

  • To unlock the driver's door you simply enter the 5-digit keyless code.

If I remember correctly:

  • To unlock the all four doors you simply enter the keyless code, followed by the number "3" within 2 seconds.

  • To unlock the trunk you simply enter the keyless code, followed by the number "5" within 2 seconds.

You didn't post what year your SHO is. If it has the older style keyless module (pre-93), you can read the code by opening the module and looking at the position of the five resistors that "set" the module's code. There use to be a link on SHOtimes, but it appears the link to the original website is dead.

If it is not the module, then it is a wiring issue, since all functions of the keyless entry system are controlled through the module. You will need to back-probe the door-harness connectors to see if the keypad signal is being sent to the module, then the door locks to see if they're receiving an electrical pulse to the actual lock solenoid for all four doors.

If you have a 93-95 SHO and it is not the keypad or the wiring, you'll need to replace the module (again) with a known working unit for which you have the code that is known to work.

that wouldn't cause it to not lock!

The right code?
