Has anyone heard of or tried a product called "tough as tile" or "tuff as tile"? It's a 2-part self leveling epoxy. Which means you can brush it on and it will run out as it cures leaving a smooth, nearly indestructable finish. It is sold in home stores as a recoating for sinks and bathtubs. It comes in white and almond (I think you can tint the white).

I have sprayed this stuff (a few years ago onto an old cast iron sink) with a cheap airbrush style spraygun/donut compressor. It really went on smooth and looked like baked enamel (once cured - about a week in dry warm climate).

I am inclined to think this is a highly suitable finish for intakes because it's rock hard and stands up fine to boiling water, it must be ok for intakes and valve covers.

I was wondering if anyone has tried it as it is readily available.

Home depot. I tried it with a brush and it ran out well. Then I whipped out the compressor and sprayed it. Much better. They don't anticipate that you will have the sink out in the garage...and spray equipment. It's meant to be used with the sink in place so the directions don't talk about spraying. I just made sure to immediately take my gun apart and clean it.

The 2 or 3 ounces that were left over, I poured into a dixie cup. It was solid firm gel by the time my gun was clean. So don't waste time after you spray it, Clean up immediately and spray plenty of solvent through your gun prior to cleaning it.
