My brother had the 3rd cat removed when it was his so im not sure on that, not very much if I recall. A buddy of mine removed the resonator for $50, granted thats a pro welded job and on the books at work but if we could have done it under the table or been able to find 2.25id pipe it would have been cheaper.

When I had the SHO, I had the 3rd cat removed when I had the struts replaced so the cost for the 3rd cat removal was pretty much nothing...just the labor to chop it off and weld a delete pipe in place.

Well, I have a friend's Dad at a muffler shop quoting me $120 for the 3rd Cat + res removal, figured it was fair since it was a bit illegal but I've heard of other places/people doing it for like $50ish.. so I don't know if I'm getting ripped off or what..any input is much appreciated :p

I think $120 is fair because they have to weld a 3ft pipe and chopped the cat; by the way keep the cat and resell it so you can recoup some money back and if they whant to keep it ask for a disccount.
I paid $50 for this service but that was 6 yrs ago so dont feel like being rip off. ;)

My mechanic charged me around $300 in parts/labor for installing the four Monroe QuickStruts I had bought & wanted put on, removing the 3rd cat & them having to buy some pipe, and then taking my winter tires off to mount the summer ones on.

i think i'm just gonna hit up the local parts store, pick up some pipe, go buy a flowmaster and hack some stuff apart. my plan is to delete the 3rd cat and resonator and install the flowmaster under the car. i think it's gonna sound hellacious.

I tried that. LOUD AS ****! Too loud for daily driving.. that's why I put the Flowmaster 50's back on.. sounds sweet as **** if you ask me. And with my cutout.. I can get the loud sound I want when I need to.
