I just picked up my brothers 98 Gen 3 and it already has dual flowmaster 40s and the 3rd cat delete and dont get me wrong its sounds great especially when you get on it, but im looking for a little more bark on startup. It sounds kinda stockish when you first start it. There is a video on youtube of a black gen 3 and it sounds ungodly when its first started, I think the guys username is genIIIv8sho or something. What do I have to do to make mine sound like that, remove the resonator or will I have to invest in a magnaflow y pipe?

Would it be this one?

If so this is what the video's description says.

"This is a quick clip of my new equal length catless y-pipe running through just a Magnaflow muffler. The flowmaster mufflers in the video are not hooked up as the exhaust is cut just after the factory resonator location. The Magnaflow is slid on the y-pipe for sound test. Both the Magnaflow and the Flowmasters will be used for the final exhaust system."

When he has the camera at the back and starts it FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Resonators coming off tomorrow, Ill try to get a clip of it when its done. It sounds good now and is probly loud enough for 98% of people but not quite loud enough for me but I really dont wanna spend $350 on a magnaflow y pipe.

My sounds veryyyy similar to yours except yours a tad raspier than mine for some reason.

... Well I don't have any cats... so I dunno.

how much did you guys pay for a 3rd cat + resonator removal at a shop?

My brother had the 3rd cat removed when it was his so im not sure on that, not very much if I recall. A buddy of mine removed the resonator for $50, granted thats a pro welded job and on the books at work but if we could have done it under the table or been able to find 2.25id pipe it would have been cheaper.
