Another AC question

I have a question. I've checked the search function but I couldn't find this specific answer. My compressor kicks on, the air comes out but it's not too cold. If I start driving, the air gets a little colder but still not as cold as it should be. The fans are spinning by the way. I charged the system because the compressor was kicking on and off. The compressor now stays on the whole time. The compressor is less than 2 years old and the compressor clutch is less than a year old. The system was flushed last year from the R-12 and was converted over to R-134. I just had a guy look at it and he said that I need a new compressor, accumulator, and an orfice tube. He said he would charge me $1440! Get the heck out of here. lol. What do you guys think is wrong with it? It was working perfect last year. I believe it came out at 43 degrees F.

Pretty soon you won't get ANY cold air. I spent $1200 on a new compressor, condenser, etc and my car started having those exact same symptoms about 3 months later. Soon it wouldn't blow any cold air at all. And my compressor was brand new. I assume it was a leak somewhere and just getting low on refrigerant. I bought a new car so never did follow up on the problem.

You either need to check your system pressure with the correct gauges, or bring it somewhere and have it checked. Sounds like a leak. You may have put enough refrigerant in to keep the low pressure switch from tripping, but there is not enough to properly cool the cabin.
