Am I crazy or can a passenger seat be made into a drivers seat?

I remember reading somewhere that if you switch the electronics from one side to the other and also the solid cover that you can indeed make a passenger seat into a drivers seat. Am I crazy? I think it was one of the t-bird owners who said this, but I have a nice set of full leather seats for my 91, but the drivers bolster was repaired here in town and the job was semi-shoddy. At any rate anyone know or have done it? shrug

I tore one apart the other day, and I believe you are correct. What I'd like to do though is have dual manual seats.

You sure can Adam.You will have to cut a hole in the seat base for the electronics to fit thru,but the cover will hide any cut you make.You can also just swap the leather cover if you`re looking to replace a torn seat with good passengers side leather.It is all clipped on,and the seat back unzippers.

Just remember that the seatback (acutally the bolsters) from an 89-90 is different than the 91. I found that one out the hard way. headbang

I have successfully swithed out three pass. to driver seat covers. top & bottom. they all turned out excellent. when the covers are off it gives the opportunity to wash them out in the tub first and let dry. a seat that looks clean can have lots of dirt in it. The seat back requires some patients to dissasemble and remove the cover. this is a difficult job to do.
