Aluminum Polishing

I have my intake and MAF off the car and I was wondering what I might use to polish the aluminum of the TB and MAF. Anybody know? If I can polish them, how long until they return to the tarnsihed state?

Here's what Efren said he used to polish his water inlet pipe. Let's see if I remember this correctly. Start with 200 grit sandpaper to knock off the rough stuff. Move up to 600 grit. Then 1000, and maybe finish with 2000. Use a buffing wheel and some aluminum metal polish to bring out the shine. To keep it that way give it a coat of clearcoat spray paint.
