I have searched and haven't found the answer yet.
Long story short, I have a bad alternator on my 1990. Will probably just pull it and have it rebuilt.
My question is: Why is the Motorcraft alternator (which I assume would be the original equipment replacement) rated at 120 amps, while all the other replacement ones are rated at 90?
The car is basically stock with no extra electrical equipment. So I assume the 90 amp one would work fine.
