Anyone got any good recommendations for all season tires? Found the tread to be seperating on one of the tires on the 98 tonight. The other one was starting to show steel, both front tires are wearing on the inner edges.

Anyhow, I want new tires on by the end of this week.

I was planning on getting new tires soon anyhow since the tread is getting low so I have not been rotating them...

Anyhow 45k on factory Z rated tires isn't to bad.

So what's a good all season tire that won't rape me?

I see the Kumho's on tirerack, they are cheap, have good ratings/reviews, I'm tempted, but I wanted to see if anyone else had any other ideas first. I also thought about putting OE tires back on but I don't like the idea of Z rated tires for winter use (although I have to admit they were not that bad.)

I run Michelin Pilot XGT Z4 on my 98. I can not comment on how they react in snow, but they are a nice all season tire. They look very nice too.

I have BF Goodrich Traction T/A V rated rubber, have had them about a year, really good tire, very good in the wet, and talk about grip, they don't call them "Traction" for nothing.

Bridgestone Potenza G009.

Nice agressive tread pattern, great stability and handling in the dry, and excellent wet and snow traction. Definitely looking forward to my 2nd pair when the time comes! :thumb:

Oh, and tire rack got them to my door for $294.90

Some moderately priced AS tires that have gotten excellent reviews with SHO owners (and elsewhere) include:
*Continental ContiExtremeContact
*BF Goodrich Traction T/A (these may be my next tires)
*Toyo Proxes 4
*Kumho ASX
*Nitto Extreme 555

The Nitto, Toyo, and Kumho tires are all very affordable. The BFG and Conti tires are a bit pricier, but still offer outstanding "bang for your buck"

Also consider the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S (make sure you get the M+S version if you want all-season) which has gotten superb ratings everywhere I've seen it mentioned. They are on backorder everywhere I have looked. This is the only tire out of the group for which I haven't heard any reviews from a SHO owner yet.

I just put on BFG G-Force. speed rating might be a little overkill for daily driving, in fact I was close to getting the Traction T/As H or V but I am impatient and that day they only had G-Force so I went with that. so far so good, quiet smooth and sticky

That's what I ended up ordering today. We have a discount at work through Tire Rack. Came to $63/tire. Not a huge saving, but it was under $300 w/shipping to work! :thumb:

I thought I heard once where Tire Rack offered a discount to Shoforum members. Is this true or just someones idea of a cruel joke?
