I noticed something the other day when I was sitting in my car, waiting for my girlfriend. I turned off the engine and notice the theft light was flashing. I know I'm an idiot for asking, but what does this mean? Is it just to know the alarm is active, or is it sending some signal to indicate that the car is being stolen? I'm sure it's the first because the second sounds to far out there, but I won't to know for sure. If someone else has seen this and knows what it is, please tell me. And please be forgiving when you answer. Thanks in advance.

YOU IDIOT!!!
Just kidding, of course! wink
The 'Theft' light stays lit for about a minute after you hit the lock button on the remote or hit the lock button inside the car. After a minute it flashes. I didn't notice it until a long time after I owned my SHO, either.

light flashes to let hoodlums know that car has an active alarm and hopefully they will pass you by and go to the next victim.
