since i'm goin gthrough putting in a ok sound system, and i'll probably be leaving my ipod in the car occasioally, i'd like to look into putting in an alarm system. My car does not have the door keypad or keyless entry/trunk open so i'd like to get an alarm that has that as well. remote start i'm not that interested in, but if it comes with, hey i guess i'd put it in (but doesnt that mean i'd have to park my MTX in neutral? i don't trust the parking brake alone, i like it being in gear as well, because i almost always park on a hill) the remote start isn;t important tho, just the alarm and keyless. on the same note, if someone breaks the window to get in and crawls through rather than opening the door from the inside, would the alarm still go off? sorry i'm even more of a n))B at this than i am at SHO stereos.

yes i've done a search, but seem to find mostly HOW to put it in (specific wiring questions) and since there seems to be a few alarm experts out there, i'm wondering whats the best now in terms of still good for lowest cost. DEI? i dont really know what that is but that acronym was floated around in some other posts. THANKS

DEI is directed Electronics.. They own the names CLifford Viper Rattler Hornet ect. If you get a DEI unit you can't go wrong. I don't recommend getting Remote Start on a MTX though. You could possibly remote start the car in gear not knowing and have a huge problem on your hands.

I would suggest the CLifford RS2.5x two way paging alarm Very nice and i think tere like 200 off of ebay.

DEI is also Avital and valet just so you know
