What are you boosted guys running for accurate air charge temps ?
I want to add one while doing current upgrades .

I use the stock one but the slot type mafs have a IAT built into them that read pretty accurately.

How much boost are you planing to run?
What if any charge cooling do you have now?

8lbs or wherever the injectors max. In the sig, I acquired a front mount.

Im looking into a 90mm Lightning maf . How accurate is the stock one ? Ive read alot of people use ones from GM cyclones. Is the stock ford unit a pos or neg signal sensor anyone know ?

I dont know that answer but for something like this. The slot type maf with iat built in would be easiest for you. It also allows you to run your bov to atmostphere :)

Did you have a problem venting your bov ? I have had mine vented since day one and the only time it causes a problem is if I blip the throttle a cuple times while coming to a stop it sometimes dies if I don't catch it . but honestly does not happen very often

Somedudes car just had the stock sensor screwed into a nut that we welded to the charge pipe. was functional but no idea how accurate it was

I wouldn't be too concerned with it. Monitor AFR and knock and you should be just fine. I haven't had my air charge temp sensor plugged in since 2005.

Highest I saw on a 100 deg day was 134. This was at 11psi with an intercooler and 5+ passes in a row.

Westach has a dual 2" intercooler temp gauge.

http://www.westach.com/

Their site navigation sorta' sucks. Click "Products", then "Dual Gauges", then "2 Inch", then "Intercooler Temperature". The basic gauge is $100 to $130, then you have to buy sensors at $47 each.

Their dual 2" gauges usually look something like this.

Tim, do you recall what kind of temps you where seeing at your lower boost levels ?

I honestly do not recall, other than the fact that it was very well managed. This on the dyno at 15psi. I did not have a gauge for my last setup, just used datalog of the stock sensor, which was quite responsive. Seems like it may have been 30-40 over ambient. On the road, with better airflow over the IC, I would guess it would be lower by a good amount. My current setup, I have only datalogged a couple of times, and not with temp readings. I am highly interested in pre and post IC temps though, not because I am worried they will be an area of concern, but just because I like the info.

I had one aftermarket resistor type air temp sensors and the response on them is way too slow but if you can find one with a small resistor element then the response time should be less than 1 second but then reliability is a concern, I would do an experiment to check its response time for the one your choose, for example, get a ohm reading at ambient temperature then stick it in a toaster oven of a known temperature and watch the ohm meter reading, you'd be surprised how long the ohm reading takes to stabilize.

I believe the stocker is a thermistor type sensor, should be a lot faster than a resistor type but a small controlled experiment to determine its response time would be needed. So I just left mine handing in the engine compartment, I assumed if I put it in the charge pipe it may melt the thin element within a few days but I could be wrong it may last, finding the thread and bung would be another issue. I believe someone mentioned a T-bird supercoupe using a brass body with a 3/8" NPT.

My EGT is a k type thermocouple I believe, that thing is fast, 1/8 NPT to a 1/4 NPT on the downpipe, welded 1/4 bung, it will log a reading from 600F to 12-1300F within 1 second when getting into boost and its been reliable.
