Umm. those are ADRs, not ADPs...lol

Theres a guy RudeDog on the TCCA who owns a set of those wheels. Not gold looking though.

I would slap a 225 on a 7" wheel.

My $335 could go to something that won't slow my car down  .

If the wheels are 20-22 lbs on the low side they would be only 1 lb heavier than the slicers which isnt bad.

Weight was the reason I bought my OZ 16lbs ea 17X8. But they are not cheap. Same goes for me paying $500 for 12.5 rotors that wieght 1 pound more than the stock 10.2 rotors. I know I am a little nuts, but I look at things this way, the only domestic car worth replacing my SHO is a CTS-V. I figure I have a long way to go before I spend $50k on my SHO and I have no car payments. My last car payment was in 1991.

it makes more difference than you would think.

Yes. I saw a guy do a bunch of upgrades to a car and gain like 30 hp on the dyno, but then he lost 10 because of big brakes. 17X8 16 lbs? That is awesome! How much did those cost?

The weight of a tire is more important than the weight of the wheel. Ie, you want the mass concentrated closer to the axle centerline if possible.

Ie you'd rather have a 20 lb tire and 25 lb wheel (45 total) vs a 25 lb tire and 20 lb wheel.

16# is light for a 17x8" wheel. Some light Hoosier race rubber could put you sub 40# for the whole assembly which is great.

My 225/45/17 V700 on 17x8" TD PR1.2 come in around 44 lb.

I paid $254.80 ea for the wheels. I have Yokohama ES100 235/45WR17 mounted on the wheels. The wheels and tires weighed 41lbs on a bathroom scale. I did have to trim and roll the rear fenders for the tires to clear. OZ Racing Superleggra were the lightest wheels that I could fine that were 17X8. They also rated at 1700lbs so I have a large margin of safety too. I though about 17X7 Centerlines because they weigh 13lbs each but the 1100lbs load rating scared me off. I have some Team Dynamics wheels 17X7.5 that are really light too. I plan to race rubber and use them on the track since I still get some rub with my current setup when the suspension is fully compressed. I also lost 6lbs of unsprung weight on each front corner from the modified hubs.

The light wheel/tire combo I have barely tips the scales at 40lbs.
17x7 TD Pro-Race 1 wheels, with Toyo Proxi TS-1 tires.

They are actually lighter than my Basketweave/BFG Traction T/A combo.

And I just choose to NOT upgrade the brakes
